Ani Difranco
Angela Maria Ani DiFranco is an American-Canadian artist and singer. Her work has been featured on over 20 albums of studio work. DiFranco's music is classified as alternative rock, folk rock but also has influences from jazz and hip-hop. Ani Difranco is considered to be a feminist legend as well as a Grammy award winner. Being one of the first female artists in the 90s, she founded her own record label. DiFranco is the daughter of Elizabeth (Ross), and Dante Americo DiFranco. They met in The Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her mother is from Montreal and her father has Italian descent. Ani diFranco wrote and performed the song 32 Flavors. The track is available on the album Not a Pretty Girl by Ani diFranco. It was released in 1996. One version of this song is featured on the 1999 Canadian romantic film Better Than Chocolate. In 2013 DiFranco apologized after it was revealed that she was hosting an event for three days in the former Louisiana plantation for slaves. While she had to cancel the workshop several individuals (including the authors of our article) were not able to feel remorse. DiFranco released a new apology several days after.
