Ellie Goulding

Ellie Goulding is a British singer and songwriter. She was born Elena Jane Goulding on 30 December 1986, in Hereford. Ellie Goulding's infectious electronic sound rapidly pushed her into the top charts after she drew the attention of people in the year 2010. The singer-songwriter was able to accomplish this through the singles "Starry Eyed" and "Guns and Horses". Although she started out writing songs in a folk-inflected style, she eventually grew into a more electronic-influenced artist, touching upon dance music and ambient synth pop. Goulding has a unique soprano scream, and an aptitude for writing emotional songs with uplifting lyrics. Much like her predecessors Kate Bush or Imogen, she's on the cutting edge of contemporary mainstream pop as well as artistic independent music.
